It is the beginning of another wonderful year here at Cooking Academy! We can't wait to see what you whip up.
As a group you are to:
(1)Identify a food that you would like to know more about
(2)Find websites that offer information about the food. Use the websites listed below to assist your group.
(3)Find the year which the food is first mentioned.
Identify where the food is thought to have come from. Is it from France? Germany? China?
Are there multiple origins to the food?
Was the food thought to be a poison? Was it used as a perfume? Was it used to dye cloth?
Was this food important to a certain culture? Was this a food only available to the rich or could everyone have it?
Relate little known facts about the food.
(4)Identify how and when the food came to America.
(5)Provide a picture of the food
Is it traditionally prepared a certain way?
(6)Share a recipe with the class that contains this food.
Create a powerpoint presentation to share with the class. Include all of the information that you have discovered related to your topic.
